Hed (Jet) 700c Q/R Carbon/Alloy clincher rear wheel

700c Q/R Carbon/Alloy rear wheel. Up for sale is a lightly used HED 700c carbon/alloy rear wheel. I believe that it was the HED JET. Used for TT's only and in an excellent condition for its age. Wheel is true, both radially and laterally. Runs on ceramic bearings and spin for ages. It's a quick release axle and SHIMANO/SRAM freehub.

This was a 10 speed specific free-hub, but I've had it professionally milled to accept an 11 speed cassette. It takes a Shimano Ultegra 11/32 cassette with no problem. You can run it with a 10 speed cassette with an appropriate spacer. According to the blurb, the wheel has an alloy braking track which has had its thickness reduced and then strengthened with a carbon fairing to improve stiffness and at the same time, reduce weight. This alloy braking track makes braking more predictable than with full carbon, especially in the wet.

This wheels is for RIM brakes only. Plenty of life left in the aluminium braking track as can be seen in the images.

Internal rim width (inner edge to edge) is 18mm. Depth from rim edge to edge is 65mm and the carbon fairing is 55mm deep. Rim tape (Ritchey) supplied but no Q/R. Wheel is collection only from Ilkeston, but can drop off within a few miles of Ilkeston, or J25 M1. Reasonable, (but no silly) offers considered.
