DT Swiss RR511 strong and semi-aero road bike wheels

DT Swiss RR511 handbuilt wheels for road. DT Swiss RR511 deep light alloy rims. 32mm deep x 21mm wide. Choice of 24/28 or 32/32 spokes. Gloss black finish with machined brake tracks.

Suitable for tyre sizes between 23mm and 32mm. Can be used tubeless or with Presta valve tubes. Suitable for a system (rider+bike+luggage) weight up to 110kg with 24/28 spokes and 130kg with 32/32 spokes. DT Swiss RR511 rims are good looking, sturdy and have decent aero qualities. The rim joint is welded for extra strength.

Hubs are Miche Primato in black. Road bike standard 100mm wide front hub and 130mm wide rear hub. Suitable for 11 speed Shimano/SRAM road and 8,9 and 10 speed Shimano/SRAM cassettes with the supplied spacer. The hubs contain high quality sealed bearings which are very free running and last well.

These are easily replaced when worn. The spokes are high quality Belgian made silver Sapim Race 2.0/1.8/2.0 double butted.

Double butted spokes are both lighter and stronger for their diameter than standard plain gauge spokes. Made from 100% stainless steel and fastened with DT Swiss PHR washers and DT Swiss Squorx alloy nipples. More corrosion resistant but heavier brass nipples can be specified - see below.

The 24 spoke front wheel is laced in a Radial pattern for minimum weight and improved aerodynamics. The 28 spoke rear wheel is built with a 2X pattern for strength. 32 spoke wheels are laced with a 3x pattern for extra strength. Total wheelset weight for the 24/28 spoke set is a respectable 1820g and can be reduced with optional lighter spokes and hubs - see below. Tubeless set-up with tubeless rim tape and tubeless valves fitted.

All our wheels are handbuilt to order to the same high standards. Race wheels are true to +or- 0.2mm and spokes uniformly tensioned to within 5% a side. At peak demand periods, despatch may be up to 8-10 days. Please look at the other wheelsets and products available in our shop.
